click picture to view larger Three $1,000 Scholarships are awarded at the Association's Annual Meeting each June. Eligibility for these Scholarships is open to everyone, and is based on academic achievement and financial need. Application forms are available after January 1 of each year; completed applications must be received by May 1. Please do not submit applications between May 1 and January 1, as they will not be accepted. Golf Tournament Scholarship2008 Recipient: Sarah Frances McGwierMidlands Technical College RICHLAND / LEXINGTON SCSEA SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2009Application Deadline is April 3 2009The Richland/Lexington Chapter of SCSEA (South Carolina State Employees Association) will award one (1) seven hundred fifty dollar ($750) two (2) five hundred dollar ($500) scholarships at the Annual Meeting on April 30, 2009. The scholarships will be awarded to SCSEA members or their relatives with priority for consideration given to Richland-Lexington Chapter members, spouses and/or children of Chapter members. The applicants must be currently enrolled at a recognized and accredited college, university, trade school or other institute of higher learning and must have completed at least one (1) academic semester/quarter. Prime consideration for the scholarships will be academic records and financial need. Additional criteria include: character, school and community activities, and expressive ability in written form, personal motivation, and leadership potential. All applicants must complete an application form and submit along with a college transcript of completed coursework and an essay not to exceed 200 words outlining your educational objectives, your career plans and how a college degree will help you attain your goals.
